Ny Jerusalems Kirke, Trankebar. Description EN:
New Jerusalem Church, Tranquebar. Built by the missionaries in 1718, to replace the first primitive church at the native town. At the gable end is the monogram of King Frederik IV. The church, being the oldest Lutheran Mission Church in India, is regarded as a kind of 'Cathedral' by the Lutheran Christians of South India. In front of the Church Altar the Missionary Bartholomäus Ziegenbalg is buried. (Photo 1987). Danmission Photo Archive
